Join Adventist university students and young professionals from the mid-Atlantic region and farther away for a day filled with worship, outreach, and fellowship at the ANEW Fall Conference 2021!
The theme for this year's Fall Conference is Undivided - based on Ezekiel 11:19 - "I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh." (NIV)
There are two ways that you can attend the ANEW 2021 Fall Conference: in-person or virtually.
*** Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, in-person attendance is limited and will be determined on a first come, first serve basis. All persons who plan to attend in-person must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to attest to their vaccination status on the day of the event. Proof of vaccination may be asked by the university on the day of the event.
About this year's speakers
Juan Antialon
Juan Antialon is the director of ANEW, a network of campus ministries in the Mid-Atlantic region. He is very passionate about campus ministries and sharing the gospel wherever he goes. Juan founded ASC (Adventist Students for Christ) at Rutgers University while obtaining his bachelor's degree studying Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mathematics, and History. He also received his master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University and currently works as a Program Manager in a software company in New Jersey. Juan will be presenting the morning message entitled Undivided: Hearts.
Rodney Osborne, Jr.
Rodney Osborne, Jr. has a passion for sharing the Word of God in relevant and practical ways. He is a product of campus ministries; during his junior year as a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology, he rededicated his life to Jesus, and went on to become the President of Adventist Students for Christ at RIT during his senior year. Rodney then went on to pursue a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University before serving as a pastor for three years. He recently transitioned away from pastoral ministry, and now serves as the Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator for an organization that strives to eliminate poverty in central Iowa. Rodney is married to his wife, Monique, and together they have a one-year-old daughter named Madison. Rodney will be presenting the second message entitled Undivided: Relationships.
Emely Umaña
Emely Umaña is passionate about growing and developing people. She serves as a Program Coordinator for the Potomac Conference Adventist Youth Ministries, and also manages the development, design, and delivery of learning events at the Congressional Hunger Center. Emely previously served as the Programming & Logistics Coordinator for ANEW and worked as an educator, teaching mathematics at the secondary level in Virginia and Florida. She loves to recharge by spending time in nature, traveling, and occasionally skydiving. Emely holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and master’s in education from George Mason University. Emely will be presenting the closing message entitled Undivided: World.
Edward Allen
Edward Allen pastored in Northern and Southern California as well as Hong Kong for thirty years. He earned both a DMin and PhD from Fuller Theological Seminary. Since 2005 he has taught in the Religion Program at Union College. He currently serves as a Dean and Program Director. His interest in the Student Volunteer Movement arose from a chance discovery in a student paper that transcribed the 1894 Union College faculty meeting minutes. Dr. Allen will give an afternoon presentation for virtual attendees about the History of Campus Ministries.
